1828 50C Curl Base 2, No Knob, O-103, R.2, MS64 PCGS. CAC. A keyhole-shaped die defect at the base of the third vertical shield stripe identifies the die marriage. According to Herrman, this Choice Uncirculated ranks second on the Condition Census for O-103 halves. Silvery surfaces display hints of gold and lavender with a spot of coppery toning between the rim and star 2. Uniformly well-defined and minimally abraded. Population (all Curl Base 2, No Knob varieties): 31 in 64 (2 in 64+), 8 finer. CAC: 8 in 64, 2 finer (7/19).
