1896 5C JD-1, R.2, PR67+ Cameo PCGS. CAC. Ex: Simpson. The 1896 proof is conditionally rare at the Superb Gem level, especially with cameo contrast. This Plus-graded Superb Gem is the sole PCGS example at PR67+ Cameo, with only a single PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS-coin arguably finer at either PCGS or NGC (9/25). Essentially brilliant surfaces yield full design sharpness and appreciable contrast. The preservation is virtually flawless. Population: 5 in 67 (1 in 67+) Cameo, 0 finer. CAC: 1 in 67, 0 finer (9/25).
