Description

Sicily. Ferdinand IV Oncia (30 Tari) 1791 GL-CI AU55 PCGS, Palermo mint, KM221, Dav-1420, MIR-597 (R2), Spahr-2. A near companion to the 30 Tari offered in our March sale of the Paramount Collection, that garnered significant interest for this intriguing issue. Certified just shy of Mint State and dressed in a luxurious steely patina and peach silhouettes, and struck with such precious resulting in near-medallic features projecting boldly towards the viewer. Only minor points of friction seen to Ferdinand's bust and eagle breast-feathers is apparent, precluding this specimen from finer designations. Accompanied by original Spink flip and paperwork.
