Description

1831 O-104 Half Dollar, MS64+
Condition Census Quality

1831 50C O-104, R.1, MS64+ PCGS. CAC. Although readily available as a variety, the O-104 is scarce in near-Gem or finer grades. Horizontal die lines beneath the bust and a speared berry on the reverse identify the variety. Pale-gold toning adds eye appeal to the lustrous, lilac-gray surfaces. The strike is mostly sharp, but weakens at Liberty's drapery folds and especially at the scroll, where URIB of PLURIBUS are missing. This coin qualifies for the Condition Census based on its Plus designation and CAC endorsement.
