Description

British Colony Counterstamped 3 Shilling 4 Pence ND (1758) VF35 NGC, KM7. KM7, Prid-5. Counterstamp graded VF Standard. Round floriate "GR" counterstamp upon Mexico Ferdinand VI 4 Reales 1758 Mo-MM (cf. KM95). Likely the rarest denomination of the counterstamped Jamaican series, and when found usually appears in Fine grades or lower. The present example is leagues beyond the norm, with swirls of deep azure and mahogany garnishing the fields and a level of detail approaching Extremely Fine. Highly desirable as one of the finer known examples of this elusive type.
