Rare Old West Issue

1872-CC $1 -- Stained -- NGC Details. Unc. OC-1, High R.3. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a. The 1872-CC has a tiny mintage of 3,150 pieces. Osburn and Cushing estimate there are only 250 survivors. The present coin is one of a few dozen examples without wear from circulation. Both sides display extensive pale blue-green toning, but the central obverse and the upper left reverse exhibit cherry-red stains that correspond to the NGC designation. There are no remotely mentionable marks.(Registry values: N7079)
