Description

1865-S Half Dime, MS65
Scarce San Francisco Issue

1865-S H10C MS65 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Bender Collection. The 1865-S half dime had a mintage 120,000 pieces, but few survive in any grade and Mint State pieces are seldom encountered. This is a remarkably well-preserved Gem, with sharply struck design elements and satiny mint luster. Mottled, golden-brown patina warms each side. PCGS and NGC combined have certified just four examples in this grade, with only two numerically finer (5/23).
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2014), lot 3540, where it brought $7,050.(Registry values: N4719)
