Description

1808 O-106a Half, AU58
Smooth and Lustrous, Advanced Die State

1808 50C O-106a, R.2, AU58 PCGS. CAC. Both sides of this charming piece show the late state die cracks described for O-106a. A bold dot at the left (facing) wing/shield junction and a recut E in AMERICA help confirm the variety. Early states and late states are of equal rarity, although the late die state has a higher condition census. This near-Mint example is fully lustrous with a trace of wear on the high points. Both sides display frosty luster with delicate gold toning. CAC endorsed.
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2011), lot 3590.
