Description

1805 S-267 Cent, AU53
Conditionally Scarce Date; Unusually Unabraded

1805 1C S-267, B-1, R.1, AU53 PCGS. Breen Die State III. Steel-blue and golden-brown hues cover the well-defined devices of this wonderful example of this conditionally challenging Draped Bust date. One hair-thin vertical mark beneath the ear, but otherwise uncommonly unabraded. The leaf point ends under the second S in STATES, immediately confirming the attribution, and the 5 in the date is widely repunched.
Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2019), lot 3049.
