Description

1872-CC Seated Dollar, XF40
Low-Mintage Early Carson City Issue

1872-CC $1 XF40 PCGS. OC-1, High R.3. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a. Although it trails the 1871-CC and 1873-CC in rarity, the 1872-CC comes under high demand from Carson City specialists and Seated dollar collectors alike. This XF40 example displays light to medium-gray hints of silver luster beneath the naturally acquired patina. Aside from the expected circulation wear for the XF40 grade, the surfaces are well-defined, showing only minimal marks and minor abrasions. Only 3,150 pieces were struck.(Registry values: N2998)
