British India. Victoria gold Mohur 1889-(c) AU Details (Rim Filing) NGC, Calcutta mint, KM496, Prid-23, S&W-6.16. A scintillating representative of the type, featuring Victoria's sensitively rendered portrait upon a warm golden host with only a gentle dispersion of wear to define the grade. Minor filing is seen to the left side of the obverse but is fairly inconsequential when viewed in hand straight on, negligibly detracting from the aesthetic refinement of the piece at hand.
