Description
1915-S Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle
Gorgeous Premium Gem
1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS66 PCGS. CAC.
The obverse design features Columbia riding a hippocampus,
symbolizing the link between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The
caduceus in her hand is thought to represent the victory by Colonel
William Gorgas and the Army Medical Corps over the yellow fever and
malaria outbreaks that affected workers during the building of the
Panama Canal. This lustrous, orange-gold Premium Gem commands
strong visual appeal. The devices are boldly impressed, and marks
are invisible to the unaided eye. PCGS has certified 35 pieces in
finer numeric grades (7/14).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYLP, PCGS# 7450, Greysheet# 10214)
