Description

1827 O-106 Half Dollar, MS63
Square Base 2, Original Toning

1827 50C Square Base 2, O-106, R.2, MS63 PCGS. Richly toned with peach and gold-gray hues through the centers and more blue-violet elements at the margins. Generally well-defined with sparkling luster. This is an excellent Select coin for the type collector. Collecting the 1827 Bust halves by Overton number is a daunting challenge only a few specialists attempt. The present coin is tied for fourth in Steve Herrman's Spring, 2016 census.
Ex: Summer FUN Signature (Heritage, 7/2011), lot 3609.
