Description

1830 50C Small 0, O-118, R.3, MS63 NGC. The fields are reflective and nearly prooflike on both sides, with exception of a raised, frosted bulge in front of Liberty's chin and neck. The O-118 variety displays a Small 0 in the date and is noted for line 2 of shield stripe 5 that extends past the border far into the eagle's feathers. Splashes of reddish-gold toning at the margins reach across Liberty's cap to accent the lustrous silver surfaces. The strike is sharp on this Select Uncirculated example, although several of the stars are drawn to the rim. A few minor lines and abrasions determine the assigned grade.
