Eight Tailfeathers, Denticle Chip
1878 8TF $1 Denticle Chip, VAM-4, MS66 PCGS. The large die
chip above the period between (PLURIBU)S U(NUM) is a simple
diagnostic for VAM-4, as are the feathers under the eagle's wings.
Splashes of golden toning adhere mainly to the marginal areas,
leaving the centers mostly brilliant and frosty. Eight Tailfeathers
dollars are virtually unseen in higher grades, with just three
