Description

Zacatecas. War of Independence - Ferdinand VII Provisional 8 Reales 1811-LVO XF45 NGC, Zacatecas mint, KM189, Cay-15853, Ramírez-Z8.1.1a. Continuous legend on obverse with local arms reverse. An important revolutionary issue struck with "LVO" initials underneath a prominently displayed central mountain, and with the words "MONEDA PROVISIONAL DE ZACATECAS" ("provisional money of Zacatecas") in the obverse legends. This issue is notable for its use of the "local arms" reverse, a scarcer type displaying a more crudely styled design. The offering possesses a superb appearance for any admirer of original tone and surfaces, exhibiting a hearty, silty patina with touches of steely luster gracing the periphery. A true connoisseur's coin, and an inarguable historical relic of the period!

Metal: Silver
Diameter: 39mm
