Description
1936 Satin Finish Cent, PR66 Red
First Proof Issue Since 1916
1936 1C Type One--Satin Finish PR66 Red PCGS. An
eye-appealing, conditionally rare example of the satin finish proof
issue of 1936, the first proof cent production since 1916, when the
matte finish was discontinued due to collector dissatisfaction and
low sales. Both sides display a bold strike and semireflective
fields, with deep coppery-red color that exhibits a few deeper
violet overtones on the high points of the obverse portrait. PCGS
