1936 1C Type One--Satin Finish PR66 Red PCGS. An eye-appealing, conditionally rare example of the satin finish proof issue of 1936, the first proof cent production since 1916, when the matte finish was discontinued due to collector dissatisfaction and low sales. Both sides display a bold strike and semireflective fields, with deep coppery-red color that exhibits a few deeper violet overtones on the high points of the obverse portrait. PCGS Population: 44 in 66 (8 in 66+), 2 finer (12/25).
