Description

1875 Indian Head Cent, PR66 Red
Captivating Condition Rarity
Tied for Finest Certified

1875 1C PR66 Red PCGS. Snow-PR1. A tiny die line deep in the dentils below 8 in the date and vertical die lines between the date and U of UNITED confirm the obverse die, while the reverse is the oft-used "bulging pennant on T" die in service from 1872 to 1878. Contrary to many 1875 proofs, this Premium Gem displays smooth and attractive mirrored fields and sharply struck motifs. Flashy orange-gold perimeters surround reddish-tan central devices. Only two 1875 PR66 examples exist at PCGS and none finer, while NGC has yet to certify a single PR66 Red example.(Registry values: N7079)
