Judd-1528, PR65+ Cameo

1877 50C Half Dollar, Judd-1528, Pollock-1696, High R.7, PR65+ Cameo PCGS. Ex: Simpson. A William Barber design with a helmeted head of Liberty on the obverse and a sandwich-board eagle on the reverse. The obverse also has displays 13 stars, seven left and six right, separated by IN GOD WE TRUST. The helmet includes an eagle, a plume, and a coronet inscribed LIBERTY. The reverse completes the statutory legends across the periphery. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Per USPatterns.com, there are only four examples of Judd-1528. Its copper counterpart, Judd-1529, is unique. Each side tends toward brilliance in the centers with deeper russet-rose and blue peripheral tones. Starkly contrasted between the fields and devices.
