Description

1859 H10C MS66+ NGC. The 1859 represents the final coinage of the Seated Liberty half dime prior to the design change that replaced the obverse border stars with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This reverse die employs a slimmer wreath than is seen on later issues, and the obverse die shows the hollowed stars attributed to Anthony Paquet. In MS66+, this piece is a rare type coin. Original blue, amber, green-gold, and violet toning surrounds the margins, leaving the interiors with a light golden hue. Eye appeal is outstanding. Census: 30 in 66 (3 in 66+), 17 finer (10/19).(Registry values: N1793)
