Description
1723/2 1/2P Hibernia Halfpenny XF40 NGC. M. 4.60-Da.1, W-12850, R.2. The overdate is clearly visible without magnification on this piece that circulated for a time before being set aside. Chocolate-brown surfaces and strong centering on both sides contribute to the eye appeal. In addition, the coin exhibits a pleasing degree of design definition. Light die clashing is present at DEI. A couple of hair-thin marks on the obverse pose little distraction, if any, on this pleasing example. Listed on page 45 of the 2014 Guide Book.From The Old New England Collection.
