Description

1914-D Cent, MS65 Red and Brown
Scarce, Low-Mintage Early Lincoln Cent

1914-D 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. The low mintage of only 1.1 million pieces indicated to collectors the need for this issue, but it did not capture the imagination of the general public as the S-VDB did. The result was far fewer were set aside than the number of collectors who eventually began to assemble date and mintmark sets. This is a coin to consider. The Brown is mellow and consists of various shadings of lilac, blue, and yellow; while much of each side retains original mint red. The surfaces are notably problem-free. Population: 78 in 65 (3 in 65+) Red and Brown, 4 finer (7/19).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22BH, PCGS# 2472, Greysheet# 1827)
