Description

1904 Cent, MS67 Red
Conditionally Rare Registry Coin

1904 1C MS67 Red PCGS. Despite being common in an absolute sense, all 20th century Indian cent issues become condition rarities in MS67 Red. The 1904 exists in this grade with just seven coins at PCGS and one at NGC with none finer (5/16). Even MS66 Red examples are elusive. The few top-grade 1904s are in ever strong demand from Registry Set collectors, most of whom still lack a coin in this condition -- eight finest-known coins is hardly sufficient for the demands of 155 (current number) Basic Set Registry assemblers. The present MS67 Red piece displays a bold strike and glowing, frosty mint luster in rich copper-orange and tangerine-red hues. The cartwheel effect is mesmerizing. Only a couple of tiny ticks on Liberty's cheek keep this coin away from virtual perfection.(Registry values: N2998)
