Description
1845-D Quarter Eagle, AU55
Unusually Well Struck
1845-D $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS. Winter 6-J. Light, white-gold
surfaces are highlighted with hints of green-gold. Light abrasions
are present, but the strike is unusually well-impressed at the
center, with indistinctness only present on the highest curl. A
single die marriage was used to produce 19,460 quarter eagles. This
issue is very rare in Mint State, with only a handful of examples
known, so Choice AU examples such as the present offering are
perfect for the quality-conscious specialist.(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25GX, PCGS# 7738, Greysheet# 8349)
