VAM-4, 80/79 Crossbar
Beautiful Two-Sided Cameo
1880/79-O $1 80/79 Crossbar, VAM-4, MS64+ Prooflike PCGS.
CAC. Ex: JCS Collection. A Top 100 Variety. The overdate
feature is strong on this variety, earning it a place among the top
VAMs of the series. VAM-4 is elusive in all Mint State grades,
although Prooflike coins are especially scarce. This Plus-graded
piece trails only two finer Prooflike coins at PCGS, both graded
MS65 (7/19). Sharp, frosty devices reside amid mirrorlike fields,
which are well-preserved for the grade. Cameo contrast is apparent
on each side, earning the CAC endorsement. Population: 29 in 64 (9
