1898-O Half Dollar, Toned MS65
Popular Mintmarked Issue
1898-O 50C MS65 PCGS. With its sub-1 million piece mintage
and O mintmark, the 1898-O was destined to be a high-visibility
issue in the Barber half series. Each side displays thick satiny
mint luster beneath the multiple layers of toning present. The
central strike details are weak, as always, but the surfaces show
no obvious or mentionable abrasions. Population: 8 in 65, 6 finer
(10/22).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2019), lot 3116, where it sold for $5,760.(Registry values: N4719)
