Description

1886 Quarter, PR67 Deep Cameo
Outstanding Contrast, Nearly Flawless Surfaces

1886 25C PR67 Deep Cameo PCGS. The 1886 is one of the scarcest of the low-mintage series of quarters from the 1880s. Only 5,000 circulation strikes were minted, along with 886 proofs. The scarcity of top-drawer business strikes puts considerable date pressure on the few remaining high-grade proof specimens. The frosty devices of this deeply mirrored Superb Gem seem suspended over the watery fields, yielding maximum contrast. Impeccably preserved surfaces accompany sharply struck design elements for seemingly unimprovable surfaces. Population: 7 in 67 Deep Cameo, 1 finer (6/16).(Registry values: P1)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23XJ, PCGS# 95587, Greysheet# 5371)

Weight: 6.25 grams
