Description

1795 O-109 Half Dollar, Fine 12
Two Leaves Reverse, CAC

1795 50C 2 Leaves, O-109, T-16, R.4, Fine 12 PCGS. CAC. Thompkins Die State 1/1. Perfect Dies. A medium-gray example with lighter shades on circulation points, this CAC-approved half dollar is an outstanding representative of early American coinage. Devices are bordered with light hues of sea-blue and lilac with splashes of champagne on the devices. The fields reflect traces of deep lavender and cobalt-blue on surfaces free of consequential marks. All letters and stars are clear and the portrait exhibits lovely hair definition. The introductory Flowing Hair type was only produced for two years and is always in demand, and the O-109 die variety does not have any Mint State issues at PCGS, so all grades are popular (6/25). Population: 2 in 12, 7 finer (7/25).
