Description
1795 Small Eagle Five Dollar, XF Details
Popular S/D Reverse, BD-6
1795 $5 Small Eagle, S Over D, BD-6, R.5 -- Altered Surfaces --
PCGS Genuine. XF Details. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/c, in an
early stage. This popular Small Eagle variety shows obvious
repunching of the second S in STATES over a previously punched D.
This reverse was paired with two obverses. A number of die slips
are seen on the reverse, seen as "spikes" that protrude from the
dentils. The surfaces are a bit overbright and covered in
reddish-gold color overall, deeper around the devices. A number of
smaller abrasions are scattered across each side, but none are
worthy of individual mention.
Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”. We believe that it meets the criteria established in Article 344(1), point (2) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and thus should be exempt from import VAT regardless of the selling price. Any questions or concerns about VAT should be addressed to your accountant or local tax authority.
