Description
1903-O Barber Half, MS66
Only One Certified Finer
1903-O 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. The Norweb-Duckor Superb Gem
1903-O Barber half dollar is the only certified MS67, and next in
line are a small number of MS66 pieces, including four at PCGS and
five at NGC (5/16). One of those is the present Premium Gem, one of
only two MS66 coins that are the finest at CAC. This piece has
frosty silver luster with intensely brilliant white surfaces that
are entirely untoned. The surfaces are pristine and the strike is
bold in most areas, especially for a New Orleans issue, although
the 1903-O is typically found better struck than most others from
this mint. Only a few slight die cracks are noted on this example.
Undeniably eye-appealing.Ex: Rosemont Signature (Heritage, 8/2013), lot 5655.(Registry values: N7079)
