Description

1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS61
Lustrous, Sharply Struck Example

1889-CC $1 MS61 NGC. The 1889-CC Morgan dollar is one of the most sought-after issues of the series. The low mintage of 350,000 pieces makes this date the rarest Carson City Morgan, and collectors have always prized the romantic CC mintmark. The present coin offers more eye appeal than the average specimen of this date, which tends to have a weak strike and below-average luster. By contrast, this attractive MS61 piece displays brilliant surfaces, with vibrant mint luster. The strike is razor-sharp, with crisp detail on all design elements. The surfaces exhibit only the minimum number of abrasions for the grade.(Registry values: P9, N4719)
