Description
1882-CC Liberty Twenty, AU55
Few Marks for the Date and Grade
1882-CC $20 AU55 PCGS. Winter 1-B. The 1882-CC double eagle
has a reputation for heavy abrasions and scarcity in high grades.
It is also one of the better struck double eagles from the Carson
City Mint. This Choice AU example is indeed sharp despite time
spent in circulation. Marks are limited to a few grade-consistent
contacts and abrasions, although the fields are less abraded than
often seen. Attractive orange-gold color retains significant mint
luster on both the obverse and the reverse.Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2024), lot 5375.(Registry values: N1793)
