Description

1919-D Nickel, MS65+
Challenging Denver Issue

1919-D 5C MS65+ PCGS. Numerous spindly die cracks on the obverse suggest a shattered die. The reverse does not have obvious cracks, but the metal flow in the fields is stronger than on the obverse. Light champagne toning graces softly frosted luster, while a few light marks are not bothersome. Finer 1919-D nickels are rare. Population: 77 in 65 (11 in 65+), 24 finer (12/24).(Registry values: N2998)
