Description

1919-D Half Dollar, MS64
Strong Central Detail

1919-D 50C MS64 PCGS. From a mintage of 1.1 million coins, the 1919-D Walking Liberty half dollar is a strike and condition rarity, seldom found well-struck and very rare in grades higher than MS64. Jeff Ambio adds: "A coin that has even emerging definition in the centers is an important find." This near-Gem has complete thumb separation on Liberty's branch hand, and crisp detail on the sandal and eagle's breast. Typical softness occurs on Liberty's head and the upper half of the date digits. Dappled olive-gold toning and satiny luster grace each side, where remarkably few abrasions are seen. Population: 84 in 64 (5 in 64+), 12 finer (6/17).(Registry values: N4719)
