Description

1888-S Liberty Ten, MS64
Unknown in a Finer Grade

1888-S $10 MS64 PCGS. It has been more than 10 years since we last offered a near-Gem 1888-S eagle, and never one finer since no numerically finer pieces exist at either service. This is an exquisite Liberty ten with frosted reddish-gold surfaces and a sharply rendered strike. Cartwheel mint luster glows beneath the attractive patina. The 1888-S is not rare as a date but it is one of the true condition rarities of the series. Population: 5 in 64, 0 finer (1/17).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 266M, PCGS# 8714, Greysheet# 9509)
