Description

1913-S Five Dollar, MS64
Rarely Seen So Well-Preserved
Only Two Coins Finer at PCGS

1913-S $5 MS64 PCGS. Here is a semikey Indian half eagle that is available in circulated condition but scarce in Mint State. In fact, it is among the rarest dates in the series in Gem condition. Most Uncirculated examples are clustered in the MS61-MS63 grade range. The present Choice representative is conditionally rare, and finer pieces are prohibitively so. This coin is well-struck and has original tangerine-gold patina with accents of olive and lavender that deliver impeccable eye appeal. A few light marks are scattered here and there, but none are singularly bothersome. An important opportunity to acquire a high-end example of this Indian half eagle condition rarity. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 16 in 64, 2 finer (5/16).(Registry values: N10218)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25ZP, PCGS# 8526, Greysheet# 9327)

Weight: 8.36 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
