Description
1798 $1 Large Eagle, Knob 9, 5 Vertical Lines, 10 Arrows, B-6, BB-96, R.3, Fine 15 NGC. Bowers Die State IV. Mottled russet-brown obverse toning overlies pearl-gray surfaces. The reverse exhibits hints of charcoal patina in protected regions. The obverse is faintly hairlined but relevant abrasions are absent. Minor adjustment marks, as coined, are noted above the eagle's beak.From The Rev. Dr. James G. K. McClure Collection.
