Rainbow-Toned Obverse, Brilliant Reverse

1878-CC $1 MS65 PCGS. The obverse of this beautiful first-year Gem has a melange of rainbow colors that includes blue, rose-violet, turquoise, yellow, and orange. The reverse is entirely brilliant. Sharply struck motifs and swirling luster are common to both sides. Morgan dollar production commenced in 1878 after the passage of the Bland-Allison Act. The inaugural Carson City mintage totaled 2.2 million coins.(Registry values: P4, N1793)
