Description
1893-CC Half Eagle, AU58
Eye-Appealing Color and Strong Definition
1893-CC $5 AU58 NGC. Winter 1-A. This is a partially
prooflike AU58 survivor exhibits eye appealing orange-gold color
and a sharp strike throughout both sides. Light abrasions and tiny
marks pepper the obverse and the reverse, yet this coin displays
nearly Mint State definition. Three die pairs are known for the
1893-CC half eagles, used to produce a 60,000-piece mintage in the
final year of coining operations at the Carson City Mint. A spike
from the dentil opposite the bust tip and the mintmark with its
second C slightly higher than the first C confirms this
variety.Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 12/2024), lot 3410.(Registry values: P2)
