Description

1893-O Half Eagle, MS63
Well Struck and Free of Heavy Marks

1893-O $5 MS63 PCGS. Winter-1. Yellow-gold coloration transitions to orange-gold near the periphery of the obverse, with some hints of graphite interspersed throughout. This superb example avoids both of the pitfalls common to this issue: it has light abrasions as opposed to heavy bagmarks, and the centers are strongly struck, not weak. This coin is also among the finest examples certified, with PCGS assigning higher grades only 11 times (9 in 63+, 1 in 64, and 1 in 64+), and NGC having never done so.(Registry values: P3)
