Description

1865 Ten Dollar, Fine 15
Low Production of Only 3,980 Pieces

1865 $10 Fine 15 NGC. Only 3,980 strikes for circulation were produced in 1865 for this denomination. Probably only 50-60 pieces exist today in all grades. This low-grade example shows vague definition in the center of the obverse, but the eagle on the reverse is clearly outlined if somewhat indistinct on the end of the wings. Rich orange-gold color covers each side, and there is only one mentionable abrasion, located above the eagle's head.
