Description

1850-O Gold Dollar, MS61
Appealing New Orleans Condition Rarity

1850-O G$1 MS61 PCGS. Winter-1. Rich, frosty luster on harvest-gold surfaces characterizes this remarkable New Orleans coin. Well-struck with sharp device features, this example generates magnificent contrast with bright orange flashes throughout an energetic cartwheel effect. The fields are slightly abraded as expected with the grade, but eye appeal on this coin is truly wonderful. With PCGS reporting only 25 examples graded finer, this rare gold dollar makes a wonderful addition for high-end collections (5/25). Population: 18 in 61, 25 finer (4/25).(Registry values: N2998)
