Early Branch Mint Piece
1851-D G$1 AU53 NGC. Winter 3-D. Leaf under the right foot
of second 1 in date. The rarer of the two die marriages known for
this challenging Dahlonega issue with only 9,882 pieces.
Orange-gold coloration and unabraded aside from a thin mark above
the portrait. The central reverse is boldly clashed, typical of the
issue. Housed in an NGC Generation 5 fatty holder.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25BM, PCGS# 7515, Greysheet# 8061)
