Description

1951-S Quarter Dollar, Toned MS68
Rare Top-Grade Example

1951-S 25C MS68 PCGS. This San Francisco issue is fundamentally similar to most other Washington quarters of the 1950s, being common in just about any grade desired. Yet, it is also similar to many other dates in that it is conditionally rare in the top grade of MS68, the grade most desired by series Registry collectors, and the grade most infrequently seen. The present coin is imbued with original, mottled multicolor toning. Frosty, untouched luster complements well-defined motifs. The importance of this coin to Registry collectors is unsurpassed, either at PCGS or NGC. Population: 6 in 68, 0 finer (11/24).(Registry values: N491)
