1866 3CN MS67 PCGS. CAC. In spite of a mintage of 4.8 million pieces, the 1866 three cent nickel is rare in MS66 and exceedingly so finer. This Superb Gem is exceptionally vibrant and frosty, devoid of toning. Struck from severely deteriorated dies, the peripheries show extensive flowlines and both sides are heavily clashed. However, the sharpness of the obverse portrait is unaffected the luster is incredible. Close study with a loupe fails to reveal even minor abrasions. Population: 3 in 67, 0 finer.
