Description

1914-D Cent, MS64 Red and Brown
An Excellent Key-Date Example

1914-D 1C MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. Of the more than 10,000 1914-D cents graded by PCGS and NGC, the vast majority are in circulated grades and/or designated Brown. This results from general lack of notice of this low-mintage issue until the development of folders and albums in the 1930s (Bowers, 2008). The present near-Gem Red and Brown example is therefore a special find for this key-date issue. Both sides display considerable reddish-orange luster splashed with whispers of light brown. This is a sharply-struck, minimally abraded, carbon-free coin that will highlight a high-grade Lincoln cent collection.(Registry values: N2998)
