Description

1964 Kennedy Half Dollar, MS68★
Possibly the Sole Finest Certified

1964 50C MS68★ NGC. Type Two Reverse. Typically, the finest 1964 Philadelphia Kennedy half dollars are coins in the MS67 numeric grade. However, a single coin is known in MS68 -- the current example, which is certified at NGC. The coin is graded MS68 . At the time of this writing, the NGC Census shows a single MS68 coin but without the Star designation; it is unclear if that represents the current coin, or if the current coin is a second example in this grade that has not yet been populated to the NGC Census. This piece displays a sharp central strike, complementing full brilliance throughout, with outstanding overall preservation. The fields are distinctly semireflective, as is a byproduct of die polishing striations across each side. A decidedly eye-appealing example. Census: 1 in 68 , 0 finer (4/24).(Registry values: N491)
