Description

1854 Liberty Ten, MS62
Conditionally Rare

1854 $10 MS62 PCGS. CAC. Although the Philadelphia Mint coined 54,250 eagles in 1854, only 10 survivors have earned PCGS Mint State grades, including six in MS61, four in MS62, and two in MS64. NGC adds 13 additional Mint State pieces, and the combined population certainly includes resubmissions. This is only the third MS62 that has appeared in any of our auctions, and the others appeared 10 years apart in 1997 and 2007. We have never offered a finer example of this issue. This attractive Mint State piece has frosty light yellow luster with trivial, grade-limiting surface marks on each side. A sharply struck example, this Liberty ten offers excellent eye appeal. Population: 4 in 62, 2 finer. CAC: 2 in 62, 0 finer (2/18).
