Description

1885 $1 PR63 PCGS. CAC. The 930-piece mintage for the 1885 Morgan proofs is typical of that era but leaves certified pieces finer than PR64 quite challenging today. This Select proof displays brilliant central devices bordered near the edges with delicate shades of marmalade-amber. Richly frosted design elements contrast starkly with the highly reflective fields. Close inspection reveals light hairlines that account for the grade, but overall eye appeal is pleasing. Housed in a PCGS generation 1.2 rattler holder.(Registry values: N1793)
