Superb Gem Cameo Proof 1883 Dollar
1883 $1 PR67 Cameo NGC. Nearly 600 proof 1883 Morgan dollars have been certified by NGC and PCGS combined, from an original mintage of 1,039 pieces. The services have assigned the Cameo label to about 80 coins, most of which are in the Select to Gem categories. A mere five PR67 Cameos have been seen by NGC, and just two are finer (3/13).Untoned surfaces on this Superb Cameo exhibit a mild white-on-black contrast, and a powerful strike emboldens all of the design features, enhancing even further the coin's outstanding eye appeal. Close examination reveals no significant marks. For identification purposes, we can only note a barely discernible mark between stars 3 and 4, and another beneath the first A in AMERICA. This coin would be at home in the finest collection of Morgan dollars.(Registry values: N4719)
